‘He Knows Who I Was Before Marriage’: Meagan Good Says Pastor Hubby Devon Franklin Encourages Her to Give Her Best for Sex Scenes

Some may have the opinion that in a successful marriage one person doesn’t try to change the other, and whatever growth takes place will occur naturally over time. And until that happens, he or she appreciates their mate for who that person is.

That seems to be the path that Meagan Good and her pastor husband DeVon Franklin are on, because Good said he doesn’t try to change her from being an actress who wants to nail the shoot, even during sex scenes.

Good was a guest on D.L. Hughley‘s radio show on Wednesday and was asked what Franklin thinks about her sex scenes, because she has one in her new film “The Intruder.”

The 37-year-old explained that her husband isn’t only OK with those scenes, but he encourages her to really get into them for the sake of the project.

“You know what’s interesting about him, is I’ll call him and be like ‘OK, honey, I’m about to do this sex scene,’ and he’ll just be like ‘OK, well, just make it look real, ’cause you really want the audience to root for you, you want them to care about the relationship,” she said. “That’s what’s gonna drive the movie through, so he’s like, ‘Just get into it.’”

“The great thing about him, he wasn’t looking to change me in marriage. Like, he knows who I was before marriage,” added Good. “So there is growth that happens individually and collectively.”

Hughley then asked Good how frequently she goes to church with Franklin, and she said “not all the time” because of past experiences.

“My experience with some church folks has not been that positive,” she admitted. “It’s unfortunate, because we’re supposed to be the biggest lovers. It’s like even if you disagree with someone or you don’t think what they’re doing is right, you’re sometimes suppose to mind your business and pray for that person. Other times you’re supposed to correct and love if that’s what God told you to do.”

Good may have been talking about a 2016 church seminar in Los Angeles that she attended with Franklin, where one of the attendees said she saw her wearing a revealing dress in a magazine. “What you say and what you do match up,” said the woman. “So we [are going to] cover up, right?”

On Hughley’s show, Good explained that she has to love some church people from a distance, because she’s extremely sensitive and criticism like that woman gave at that seminar truly affects her.
