On Wednesday, Jan. 9, Omari Hardwick turned 45 years years old and received a birthday shoutout from his TV son Michael Rainey Jr., who plays Tariq St. Patrick on the hit show “Power.” Of course, Hardwick is the star of the show and plays the very complicated Ghost.
“Happy worth day to a mentor and family,” Rainey wrote. “Much blessings. Appreciate you.”
Omari also acknowledged his birthday on social media by writing a poem. Because besides being an actor, he’s also a longtime spoken-word artist and hosted the TV One series “Verses and Flow.” That was before he played Andre on “Being Mary Jane” and Ghost on “Power.”
“I’ll be 45 in a minute / More alive than the day mama did it / New Year’s resolutions be on some bullsh– / Ain’t nothing new, I already knew/ Most of y’all won’t read a thing I just spit / I be gone ’til we get a better government / IG blown ’til it’s better people in it / Just a poem explaining why I split,” he wrote.
Omari’s wife, Jennifer Pfautch, also sent the birthday boy a special message and thanked him for being a wonderful family man.
“You lead us by example, and I’m blessed that our kids have you to follow,” she wrote. “I’m honored to walk by your side. I love you. Happiest of worth days to the papa of Nova, Brave and our angel Chance. We love us some you.”
It doesn’t seem that Omari acknowledged Michael’s birthday shoutout online yet, but perhaps he’ll do that soon.
